Latest gaming

I haven't updated this blog in a while so this should be a bit longer, mainly comprising of my latest game completions and Gamerscore grabbing.

First up is UNO, back in March last year I picked it up but never got the last two achievements (the 40 wins and 10 four player wins) Took me a good five hours to grab these last two but now it is finished I can delete it from my hard drive.

Also not even going to bother with UNO Rush. One UNO game is enough for me on my gamertag.



Puzzle Quest is a game I had for ages again but never really got into it until a few weeks back. This was a long slog but got it all done, with DLC, in about four days after work. Felt great when the full 250 GS was completed. Felt like a decent achievement to get a decent sized game done but I did not have a care in the world for the story, never grabbed me and the boss battles were nothing special compared to the normal fights you got into along the way.

Verdict: If you want a game that keeps you in the 'one more battle' frame of mind then pick this up. If not then give it a miss. Although if you read thisyou probably have this already.



Transformers was another game that I rented from Lovefilm ages ago but never got the last two achievements and thought they were going to be a time suck to get done. Turned out that after a bit of internet searching I could get all the cubes and skills in about 1-2 hours.

With that in mind I put it back on my Lovefilm list and finished it the same night I got it so another 1000 GS in the bank which I could have done much earlier if I did not give up on the game first time over.

Verdict: Good little game that will take up a good few hours but dishes out the achievements at a decent pace. Worth a rent.


Another game I completed was Sega Mega Drive collection. Blitzed through three quarters of this the other week when the girlfriend left me to it so she could sleep. Come 3 a.m the full 1000 GS was done, I was tired as hell but thankfull that I did not have to play it ever again.

Fable II was a game I could not get on with after picking it up on launch day. Played for a few hours and got bored quickly. Due to me trying to increase my completion percentage I reluctantly went back to it and finshed up story mode. Was a fairly good story but the fianl battle was a big dissapointment, you could even argue it was not even a battle. Seems to me old Peter M forgot the ending with the so called great things he put in then rushed a simple ending that if you did nothing you still finshed the game.

Obviously there is a bit to do afterwards but I felt let down with how the story ended up. Got 605 GS so I am happy as it is above my 50% traget. Trading this with Toz from crankygamersuk.net for HAWX. Never really tried a flight sim out so hopefully this will turn out to be a good introduction into a new genre of gaming.

Last but not least is Bomberman Live. Me and my brother have been playing this together on our tags getting the achievements and having a great laugh along the way. Just got to get the win 30 xbox live games achievement for another 200 GS.

Thats about it for me this time round, I have played other games but not really progressed that well in them to be honest. Another thing of note is that I fianally hit 50K. Seemed to take forever but got there in the end and am now closing in on 52K hopefully next week. Nothing to shout about compared to Stallion83 but in 14 months that is pretty good going on my part.

Grinding, retro and hip hop

What a funny old few days since my last entry.

I have grounded TNA iMPACT! to almost complete boredom trying to get top of the Ultimate X leader board, now only 30 wins away then two more achievements for the completion.

Received Mega Drive Ultimate Collection a day early through the post. A great game that really takes you back to your childhood. One thing I Will say though, how the hell did I enjoy them games back in the day? They are so hard to play now. Must be me being crap at Mega Drive I reckon.

After more grinding on my least favourite wrestling game I popped out to Blockbuster. Myself and my brother picked up a game each. He got Street Fighter IV and I got 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand. Now I hate fighting games to death so that will never grace my gamer tag but ''Fiddy'' is a good little action shooter. It reminds me a bit of The Club, which I should really pick up for under £10 online. The driving missions are quite well thought out and on each level there are posters and accuracy targets to hit, just like The Club. I can see the full 1000GS being got within the week before it's due back.

Thats what I have been upto since the last entry, nothing special but there you go.

More TNA and a baby on the way

After spending most of the afternoon with my girlfriend and her mum visiting the midwife I can now officially announce that I am gonna be a dad. Gonna be a fun ride and now I have got to watch my money more. Thank god for Lovefilm is what I say ; )

On the gaming front, I have played the reversal fest that is known as TNA. It would be a fun Little game if it wasn't for the high reversal rate. After boosting for a while with my brother in law earlier I decided to get some of the story mode done. Been picking up achievements left, right and centre doing it and completes 30% of the story as well.

I believe I'm around the 335 GS range on TNA at the moment, want the full 1k by end of the weekend.

I will say one thing for free though, I really want to go bowling. Haven't got a clue why, just wanna bowl.

Wasted Morning

Today I had a day off from work but instead of gaming I overslept by 3 hours. Not too happy but still got 3 hours until the girlfriend gets here.

Currently boosting with my brother in law on TNA iMPACT! to get the Best of the Best achievement. Going to take a while but 100GS at the end of it so cant moan about that.

Just got the post and LoveFilm sent me Mercs 2 so that will be played tomorrow after work. I have got far too many games to play at the moment but I will get round to them, honest.

P.S I did not play last night after the pub as I was a bit worse for wear. More gaming time lost but I will make it up at the weekend. Want to get the challenge achievements in Burnout Paradise but cant find anyone to play with.
